Taking A Road Trip To San Diego

Summer is approaching fast and I love going to the beach. The bad thing is, I live in Arizona and had lived in Southern California for decades. I miss the ocean!  This year my kids and I are taking a road trip down to San Diego to see some of the sites and enjoy spending time in the surf and sun.

We're going to stay for about a week and find a nice, but reasonably priced motel near the beach and just enjoy the scenery. Sometimes it's nice to get away from it all and relax, leaving work and problems behind. We might pack a picnic one day and go to a nearby park, maybe go to the San Diego Zoo, find some museums to visit, and we might rent a boat for a few hours too.

I'm sure my girls would prefer to go clothes shopping and there are probably some great boutiques around there, but I'll probably let them go off and try on clothes for a few hours while I check out a local book store or thrift shop. Right now I'm just counting down the days until we get to leave for our vacation!

Nabtag.com - The Social Bookmarking Site Where You're A Guru!

I'm always looking for ways to promote my articles, blog posts, and stories I find online. Naturally, there's the typical places like Digg, Buzz, Reddit, etc. but today I found a new social bookmarking site called nabtag.  Not only does it look like a good way for webmasters and bloggers to promote their stuff, but you can be "tag guru."

The way the site works is simple. You sign up, create your profile, and then start submitting stuff and adding relevant tags. The more things you post under those tags, the higher your rank until you actually "own" the tag or have "nabbed it" for your own. Hence the site name nabtag. What this means is you're the guru for that particular tag. For example, you may post a lot of bookmarks on health, gaming, affiliate marketing, or three-toed sloth racing. If you've posted more than anyone else then you're the guru and your bookmarks are showcased. Talk about a great way to get some online visibility, and it's completely free.

I Love to Watch America's Next Top Model

My favorite fashion themed show on TV is America's Next Top Model. I love watching this reality TV show because it gives me the inside glimpse of what it's like to work in the modeling field. World renowned model Tyra Banks is the host of the show, and she serves as the main judge. She is joined by other professionals of the fashion world who help to critique and judge the young women hoping to win the competition. The aspiring models on the show are whisked away to exotic locations and must complete various challenges and modeling shoots in order to claw their way to the top of the competition.

The show is exciting and filled with the unexpected. I love seeing the clothes the models have to wear when they go to the runaway shows and modeling shoots. I also love seeing the cutting edge hairstyles they wear when they receive their makeovers. It's also fun to see how the models interact with each other since they live in the same house during the competition. Of course, I watch my favorite fashion themed TV show on Satalite TV HD Specials .

2011 Hyundai Genesis

My son-in-law is ready to trade in his 5 year old Hyundai and wants to get a new vehicle. He's really happy with this make so he's sticking with it. He's had his eye on the new 2011 Hyundai Genesis probably in a sleek steel gray color with all the bells and whistles. 

I'm a frugal person though I can respect that fact that since he and my daughter don't have any kids yet they can get a nicer car. Brand new, the Genesis costs about 38-43k, but I had him check out certified pre-owned vehicles as well.  If he goes the pre-owned route he can save up to $15,000 and still get an awesome car he can be proud of.

I also sent him the link for the current Genesis specials they have 60 and 72 month financing with interest rates that are great. He'll probably be driving around in his new "toy" any day now.

My daughter just started nursing school and was looking around for nursing scrubs so I told her about Blue Sky Scrubs. I've known about this website for awhile now and always recommend it to my scrub wearing friends. I'm a firm believer in getting the most bang for my buck and also saving time as well.

Since you can shop online from Blue Sky Scrubs you don't have to waste time going to the mall or other clothing store to find what you're looking for. Sometimes the store may not have your size or type of uniform you're looking for.  This site has so many scrubs pants, tops and hats to choose from you're sure to find what you need.

Hulu Plus Review

It's less than $10 per month and I got it directly through my PS3 (just like with Netflix.)  They boasted loads of TV shows and movies, though I wasn't really interested in the trailers and clips. I wanted full episodes and the complete series. Having more movies to choose from was good too.

When I first signed into my account I was really happy. I found shows from way back like Adam 12, Night Gallery, Emergency, and many others. The movies? I didn't like any of them. 99% of them seemed like low budget HBO specials with an occasional box office movie here and there. No worries though, I was more interested in the TV shows.

I was hoping to see newer things, like Hoarders, but they only had some clips. Still, I enjoy older shows so remained hopeful. A month went by and not much new was added. Another month, another month. Still not many new shows were added to the bunch. I was starting to get disappointed, but not ready to give up just yet.

One thing that I found really annoying was the fact that it started to freeze all the time. I'd watch one episode and it would freeze a bit here and there but start back up. Then into the second episode of a show it would just stay frozen and I'd have to exit out of Hulu. Even if I signed out then back in, turned off my device then back on, nothing would work. I NEVER have that problem with Netflix.

It got to be so frustrating and pointless that I just canceled my membership. The fact that the movies are horrible (in my opinion), and they don't add many new shows each month really turned me off. Besides, I noticed that Netflix is starting to get more TV shows like Scrubs, Roseanne and others. At only $7.99 a month I'm sticking with Netflix. Maybe I'll give Hulu Plus another try in a year or so once all the bugs are worked our and they have more shows and better movies.

In this bad economy you need to count your pennies so don't waste it on something that doesn't deliver full value.
